The Alicante driver Miguel Fuster has doubled his advantage on Iván Ares on the Siero 2 special stage and has now virtually secured the National class. Fuster took the win with a time of 9:19:70. Ares could only manage sixth and he lost 37 seconds to his biggest rival. In the General Classification, Fuster holds fast to the leadership and with Ares now 1:02 minutes behind he seems to have won the fight for the victory.

Jonathan Pérez has not let up on his quest for victory in the European class on any special stage and he has taken the best time on the 14.64 kilometres of Siero 2 and he is now 3:41:40 minutes ahead of Fran Cima in the classification. Second on the stage was Angel Paniceres and Esteban Vallín, has consolidated his third position in the General Classification, increasing his lead to over 29 second on his immediate pursuer, Victor Senra.

A big support team

More than 600 people are working here today to ensure that the 52nd Rally Princesa de Asturias-Ciudad de Oviedo is a success. To this number, coordinated by the organization, can be added the Civil Guard and the Civil Defence all of whom carry out a vital task. These more than 600 collaborators of the rally are divided between 98 radio links, 155 commissioners of the course, six heads of sections, six chiefs of radio, 50 timekeepers, 26 members of the Safety Caravan, eight people in charge of the parc ferme, 11 technical people in charge of the scrutineering, 15 commissioner and 12 sport commissioners, 4 in charge of the communication with the entrants, 15 people in charge of the security assemblies and 20 members of the race direction.
