With one stage remaining Alicante driver Miguel Fuster has increased his lead over Iván Ares to 1:34:40 minutes in the General Classification of the National class. On Villaviciosa 2 Fuster has taken the fastest time – his seventh on this running of the Rally Princesa de Asturias-Ciudad de Oviedo-- with a time of 10:38:70. Ares did not make the right tyre selection right at the moment the rain made its formal appearance at the event, and he was not been able to maintain the race pace and he was only able to set the sixth best time. Sergio Vallejo is taking advantage of the conditions and he now threatens second-placed Ares in the classification. He is just 31 seconds behind and ahead he has the 29.980 kilometres of the Colunga-Piloña 2 stage, longest of all the rally to look forward to.

The European class also seems determined, Jonathan Pérez is not prepared to yield even once and he has again set the fastest time and Fran Cima, second in the General Classification seems to have taken his foot off the accelerator. The one who is still fighting is Esteban Vallín, who has taken the second best time of the category which consolidates his third position in the classification and who has one last opportunity to trim the 57:40 seconds that Cima still remains in front of him.
